It’s celebration time!
On Saturday, July 5, we’re throwing a party! The Spijkerparade is taking over Parkstraat for the day. Front gardens and balconies will transform into stages and platforms, with mini-events to experience, watch, hear, taste—and maybe even smell—throughout the street. Come and see! And just as important: join in! The Spijkerparade is a celebration for everyone, but also by everyone.
Who, what, where?
The Spijkerparade will kick off at Saturday July 5th at 1 PM at Parkstraat 15. After that you’re free to wander through the participating gardens – it will be obvious which ones they are. The programme lasts until 4 PM. See you there!
So, what exactly are we celebrating?
Our beloved Parkstraat—the bridge between North and South, East and West—has been beautifully restored. The final trees were planted on February 15, and the street has been returned to its former glory. It was quite an undertaking, so it’s high time for an official opening and a fantastic party! On July 5, we’ll also celebrate the volunteers and community initiatives that are not only beautifying Parkstraat, but the entire neighborhood. And, of course, we’ll be kicking off the summer holidays. Honestly—what aren’t we celebrating?
Wander through the gardens
Without an audience, there’s no party. So step outside and head to Parkstraat! The Spijkerparade is for everyone in the neighborhood. You don’t need to register—just bring your neighbors, friends, or passersby, embrace the party spirit, catch the breeze, meet familiar and new faces, and enjoy all the beauty Spijkerkwartier has to offer.
